Part of what makes David Leggett’s work so engaging is the variety of materials and stylistic sources he includes. “My work tackles many themes head-on. Hip-hop, art history, popular culture, sexuality, the racial divide, and self are all reoccurring subjects,” he explains. The Los Angeles-based artist intentionally uses found imagery and craft materials, such as felt, to highlight his distrust of painting.

The first thing that hits you when you look at Alex EckmanLawn’s work is his eerie, atmospheric take on chiaroscuro. His hand-cut works inhabit a dark, weird world where logic is irrelevant. One of the ongoing motifs in his work is the depiction of erosion, as if the body or an object has layers peeled away to reveal hidden cavities.
