Die Gestalten Verlag is a Berlin-based publishing house dedicated to creating thoughtfully crafted illustrated books for an international readership. For more than three decades, we have engaged with the disciplines shaping contemporary creative culture — from graphic design and sustainable architecture to interior design, fashion, and culinary practice. Since our founding in 1995, we have developed a distinctive program of high-quality visual publications distributed worldwide.

Today, Die Gestalten Verlag brings together two distinct imprints: gestalten and teNeues. While each imprint maintains its own editorial perspective and visual language, both share a commitment to quality, cultural relevance, and carefully produced books.

gestalten focuses on contemporary creative movements that shape how we live, build, design, and experience the world. Its titles explore material innovation, urban culture, independent hospitality, craft revival, plant-based cuisine, and emerging design practices across disciplines.

teNeues, founded in 1931, is internationally recognized for its photography books and premium illustrated editions. With a strong heritage in visual publishing, the imprint collaborates with leading photographers, cultural institutions, and global brands. Its program includes fine art and fashion photography, automotive history, horology, luxury travel, and archival monographs.

Within the gestalten imprint, Little Gestalten develops illustrated children’s books and creative nonfiction for younger readers, introducing themes such as creativity, environmental awareness, visual literacy, and STEAM subjects through thoughtful design and storytelling.

Together, the imprints operate on a shared platform while preserving their distinct identities — united by an enduring belief in the power of images, ideas, and printed books.
