There is an arresting stillness in the photography of James Kerwin. The Norwich-based photographer explores abandoned buildings and the empty spaces. With a studied eye for composition and color, Kerwin creates beautiful documents of the texturally rich but criminally underappreciated corners of the world. 

“The best thing about it is the peacefulness,” he says. “Once inside a building, there is no noise, no people shopping or shouting or playing with their mobile phones; it is tranquil.”
